Homemade dinner rolls, a fool-proof recipe. Easy to make and absolutely delicious! Impress your family with rolls from scratch at your next dinner.

When it comes to a vintage skills, bread baking is high on my list of priorities. There is something about fresh ingredients and a little bit of work that makes for a most delicious and appreciated homemade roll.

These homemade dinner rolls are crusty on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside.

This roll recipe is traditional served with dinner or supper but would be equally good at breakfast as well. Although I prefer biscuits and gravy in the morning.

  14. Brush with melted butter and serve warm!

How to Store Homemade Dinner Rolls

Before you store your homemade rolls they need to be allowed to fully cool. If you are going to eat them in 2 days or less you can keep them in an air-tight container or bag on the counter or bread box. For longer storage it is better to keep them in your refrigerator for up to a week.

Can You Freeze Homemade Dinner Rolls?

Yes you can. To freeze your fresh baked rolls, first allow them to completely cool. Put them in heavy duty plastic freezer bags, getting out as much air as possible before sealing.

When you’re ready to use them allow them to thaw on the counter and reheat in your oven.

How to Reheat Dinner Rolls

It is best to reheat rolls after they’ve come to room temperature.

IN THE OVEN: The best way to reheat your homemade dinner rolls is in the oven. Put the rolls on a cookie sheet in the middle rack at 350°F for 4 – 6 minutes. Watch them carefully so they don’t burn!

IN THE MICROWAVE: To reheat your rolls in the microwave you’ll place them on a microwave-safe plate, cover them with damp (not wet) paper towels or clean kitchen towel so that the entire plate is covered. Cook on medium for 30 seconds, no more than 45 seconds or they’ll be too chewy to enjoy.
